How, from an evolutionary perspective, do we as humans continue to pass along information? Well, according to Dr. Roy Casagrande, women, and more specifically, grandmothers, have evolved to no longer reproduce at a certain age but continue to live longer to educate younger generations. This phenomenon aligns with the “grandmother hypothesis,” a theory suggesting that female humans live far beyond their reproductive years to provide care for grandchildren and ensure the survival of their lineage.
